As registration began, the wind was out of the northwest at 35 mph, gusting to 40 mph. The temperature dropped to around 34° F and it started snowing -- horizontally. It’s possible that the snow and nearly 0° F wind chill had something to do with the less than robust turnout for the annual FCAA membership shoot, but a few hardy souls made it. Probably all bowhunters – they’ll come out in any kind of weather!
The crowd picked up substantially at around noon, without question due to Bobbi Magers’ barbecued beef brisket lunch. This year it was all-you-can-eat. No surprise there. Try as we might, there was still some brisket left over after lunch.
President Michel Magers presided over our annual meeting, used mostly to highlight the contributions of key members during the past year and present the new slate of officers. With a few minor changes, it’s the usual suspects and the slate was approved unanimously. We’ll be posting the new officers soon on our web site.
